Mission of Committee For Efficient Government
Committee For Efficient Government, LLC (CFEG) was formed in 2012 by two successful South Florida businessmen who became aware in media reports of the ever growing identity theft-based tax refund fraud problem which is costing the United States Treasury billions of dollars at the hands of identity thieves.
CFEG’s mission is to seek and explore ways in which the Government can operate more efficiently and bring those ideas and solutions to the forefront of Congress and the American public.
One of CFEG’s goals is to bring transparency to government and to protect the American taxpayer and the U.S. Treasury by educating lawmakers and bringing to their attention examples of government losses, such as the losses which are occurring at the U.S. Treasury as a result of the identity theft-based tax refund fraud problem.
CFEG’s mission is to also bring transparency to the U.S. Treasury by educating lawmakers and bringing to their attention examples of government losses through inefficiency, mismanagement, negligence, and waste which has resulted in the depletion of government assets, resources and taxpayer money.
CFEG also seeks is to expose wasteful government spending and find solutions to such problems through research, public awareness, education and legislative and program changes and initiatives.
Over the past few months CFEG has retained consultants who have traveled to Washington, DC to meet with the staffs of Congressmen and Senators to 1.) determine what the Government is doing and what it has done to prevent the identity theft-based tax refund problem; 2.) to determine the status of legislation introduced in the Congress which combats and prevents the problem; and 3.) what CFEG can do to solve or prevent the problem. CFEG has researched the identity theft-based tax refund fraud problem by reviewing and assembling government reports, studies and articles which describe the problem and how much it is costing the U.S. Treasury. As part of the meetings with Congressional staffs, CFEG has provided these staffs with information and statistics which reflect an urgent need for a solution to the identity theft-based tax refund fraud problem.
CFEG has requested Congressmen and Senators to send letters to the IRS requesting that the IRS allocate all available resources to preventing the identity theft-based tax refund fraud crisis between January, 2013 and April, 2013, the height of the 2013 tax season.
CFEG will continue its efforts to 1.) bring about awareness of the identity theft-based tax refund fraud crisis; 2.) educate lawmakers and urge them to pass legislation which will prevent and solve the identity theft-based tax refund fraud problem; and 3.) find a solution or solutions to the identity theft-based tax refund fraud problem.
